2016 — 2026
Children Holding Guns is a military-themed brand I started as a tribute to my two years of mandatory National Service in Singapore.
From shellscrape nights to endless waits in training sheds, I filled a notebook with ideas while counting down the days to finishing service and returning to my creative life in civilisation.
Unfortunately, life isn’t always a bag of night snacks. While unemployed and building my portfolio, I started Children Holding Guns to bring those ideas from the past two years to life—and hopefully bring some laughter to those who are serving, or have served.
It all started with an outfield pop-up.
The brand derives its name from a line in the army song "Training to be Soldiers”.
Over the decade, I have designed and produced notebooks, motivational patches, pins and even toys.
Some cartoons and memes for socials in marketing efforts.
Ten years later, I ended my service here.
(I’m getting old)
